‘Distorted Universes’

by Roman Kasei

Mixing all symbols in sight and trying to recreate a sense out of it.  Oh the sense.  Has everything always been like this?  Why can I smell this knob and wait… is this building breathing…?  The emptiness of not knowing who you are…   The key is trusting that in the end, it will be fine. Because it has to.  All this will have a meaning needed to be extracted. Otherwise, it would have been for nothing.

Time, place…  Identity too?
All these lights everywhere.
Excuse me… Where are we?
I need to get to that place, y’know?
You don’t know.
I should have known.
I’m alone here.
How empty it feels.
Not knowing who you are.
But nobody told you, that’s the thing.
He sneaked in by surprise.
Like the dimensional being he is.

Roman Kasei is a Creative Director, Producer and Photographer. After creating a structure to produce and direct diverse content in Marseille, France for 4 years, he decided to move out of the country and challenge himself in Asia, more specifically Japan.

While going through a quick process of making himself a name in the Tokyo scene, he went through a few start-ups companies, helping them build their own video departments until they could reach their success. In just a few years, he has worked with worldwide brands as Beats by Dre, Sony, Heineken, Volvo, Ferrari, Lexus and many more.

Always looking to create more avant garde, artistic and borderline experimental projects, he is constantly challenging himself to improve his skills as an Artistic Director,  filmmaker and photographer.  He presents today a series of surreal creations he took while roaming the streets of Tokyo at night and imagining worlds of his own. Nothing was connecting anymore.
